The right-wing talk show host Rush Limbaugh has got the media talking as he has quickly shed 90 pounds since last winter. Limbaugh credits his weight loss to the Florida-based company, Quick Weight Loss Centers. He recently said on his radio show,
“It’s just the easiest one, and it’s the fastest. I’m 58-years old. I never lost weight this fast, almost 90 pounds here since March 9th, not even six months yet.”
The Quick Weight Loss Centers plan is a low-carb, low-calorie diet with regular office visits and diet supplements. The supplements include protein boosters, carbohydrate blockers and appetite suppressants. Before joining the program you must have a doctor’s clearance and according to their website a person can lose 3 to 7 pounds a week.
This may be fine and dandy for the time being but these days everyone knows that you can’t live on appetite suppressants forever, especially men who are in their later years. It would be interesting to know what diet regime he follows or even if he has one for that matter. In addition, losing 3 to 7 pounds a week is extreme and most nutritionists recommend a conservative 1 to 2 pounds a week in order to get the weight off and more importantly, to keep it off.
